DE-CIX and the largest IX on the West Coast of Africa, IXPN (Internet Exchange Point of Nigeria), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to kick-off their new partnership.
The partnerships aims, in a first step, at delivering extensive knowledge and educating local African networks, Internet service providers and content service providers about the benefits of peering and further interconnection services. DE-CIX will make use of the DE-CIX Academy and its experts, providing valuable information for peering in practice.
The academy consists of a sizable library of white papers, as well as webinars that viewers can participate in live or watch as recordings later. The topics include information on Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), peering and blackholing, technical guidelines for connecting to a range of cloud service providers, and market studies on the global telecommunication landscape.
The next steps of the partnership will be announced in due course.
