DE-CIX is the first Internet Exchange that offers a direct connection to the new Microsoft Azure cloud in Frankfurt. The MS Azure cloud will go live next month, and networks can connect and access the cloud directly in Frankfurt via DE-CIX DirectCLOUD and Microsoft ExpressROUTE.
A connection to Microsoft via DE-CIX DirectCLOUD has been available for quite some time, but the connection brought networks to the nearest available Microsoft cloud in Amsterdam. Now, networks can access the Microsoft cloud via ExpressROUTE directly in Frankfurt.
In addition to Microsoft, there are more than 50 cloud providers connected to DE-CIX. These include not only global companies like Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud, but also a large number of specialized and regional companies and niche providers.
